The elegance and splendour of the Serene Republic are the background to the exhibition-event titled The Marbles of the Doge that will be premiered in Verona during Abitare il Tempo and Marmomacc.
The exhibition, promoted by the Chiampo Marble Consortium, will involve authoritative experts in the historic, sculptural-architectural and ancient stone materials field and, on the basis of detailed research into the use of “marble” in the Serene Republic, will propose new inspiration for design dedicated to contemporary hospitality.
The Ducal Palace reflected in the water of the Venetian lagoon, the Ducal Palace and light playing on and filtering through the fret-work of the facade...the ductility of marble as a natural element, forcefully re-established in international design, in comparisons with history and translation in modern terms.
Form skilfully modelled by the ability of several companies belonging to the Chiampo Marble Consortium in processing stone materials to express the enormous (and often unknown) potential of stone design and the sophisticated technology levels achieved by companies.
New interpretations and three-dimensional developments of forms translated from the ancient palaces of 1300s Venice will animate an area of 250 sq.m. embracing four settings dedicated to the hotel contract field: reception, lounge, rooms and spas.
The Marbles of the Doge is an exhibition-event welcoming the best in the market panorama of stone design, a creative stimulus and an occasion for professional comparison focusing on hotel managers, consultants and designers, entrepreneurs, professionals and sector experts but also an important cultural appointment for everyone interested in analysing the fascinating and unknown aspects of one of the milestones in the Italian historic-cultural heritage.
The layout and central theme of the exhibition will be highlighted by a catalogue including research essays, projects and images of stone implementations.
