Stefano Giovannoni with GRASSI PIETRE

Stefano Giovannoni took his degree at the Faculty of Architecture in Florence in 1978 and now lives and works in Milan. He has provided educational and research activities for the Faculty of Architecture in Florence; he has taught at Domus Academy, the University of Design in Reggio Emilia and the University of Architecture in Genoa.
He works as an industrial and interior designer and architect, specialising in products in plastic.
He has collaborated with companies such as Alessi, Cedderoth, Deborah, Fiat, Flos, Hannstar, Helit, Henkel, Kokuyo, Inda, Laufen, Lavazza, Magis, Oras, Oregon Scientific, Seiko, Siemens, 3M, Toto, Ntt Docomo, Veneta Cucine and Amore Pacific.
He has designed products of great commercial success including, for Alessi, the Girotondo and Mami series, in plastic, and the Alessi Bathroom and, for Magis, the Bombo series, winning important international awards. Mention can be made of the Design Plus Award at the Frankfurt Exhibition, the Forum Design in Hanover and 100% Design in London. He has also obtained two nominations for the Gold Compass. He has also won equally important awards for his architectural production, including two editions of the Shinchenchiku Residential Design Competition and victory in the competitions for a square at Santa Croce sull’Arno and the restructuring of the historic centre of Castel of Sangro (with A. Branzi and R. Buti).
In 1991, he designed the Italian hall for the “Les Capitales Européennes du noveau design” exhibition at the Georges Pompidou Centre, where the permanent archive just like the MOMA Collection in New York - includes some of his projects.
