Overview
Within the scope of the cultural events promoted at the 44th edition of Marmomacc, this year will again assign the prestigious Best Communicator Award 2009 to companies which, through the care n setting up their stands, best and most coherently express their image and the results of their research.
Now at its 3rd edition, the Award was created with the intention of valorising the best exhibit design projects and highlights the most innovative strategies for company communication; edition by edition, it has earned growing interest among visitors, sector experts and especially the praise of international critics.
A further objective of the Award is to focus attention on exhibition stands as temporary spaces capable of representing the identity of exhibitors and offering new perspectives in the possible applications of stone materials, at the same time as stimulating the involvement of architects and designers in the construction of ideal scenarios highlighting the amazing expressive potential of marble. And that's not all. It also focuses attention on the impact that a different creative approach can and must have in responding to a different production model, closely inter-linked with respect of the local area and the environment.
This is how important collaborations are formed, such as the one between Il Casone and Kengo Kuma (in 2007) and Claudio Silvestrin (in 2008) that - for two consecutive editions - saw the company win the Best Communicator Award. The set-up coordinated by Kengo Kuma involved an imposing and delicate modular structure in serena stone resembling a playing card castle. In 2008, on the other hand, the award was made jointly to Il Casone and also to Pibamarmi.
In this case, the design by Michele De Lucchi and Phillippe Nigro transformed the stand into a highly original mono-chromatic space and thereby into yet another occasion for experimenting with the plurality of stone processing operations to provide tangible signs of as yet unexplored possibilities.
In short, the Award by no means seeks to draw up a ranking but rather to highlight, in a broader context of integrated communication, projects ensuring quality in terms of both temporary set-ups and brand identity.
The appointment is for Wednesday 30 september 2009, when the authoritative jury comprising Mauro Albano (Brand Manager of Marmomacc), Aldo Bottoli (Ricerca Sistema Osservatori Colore), Oscar Colli (Il Bagno Oggi e Domani), Vincenzo Pavan (Coordinator of architecture events at Marmomacc) and Livio Salvatori (Casabella) will identify and select among the ‘showcase’ stands at the show, those most deserving this award, which consists of an important and precious design object.
